Bloom Necklace

Quick Easy Flower Bloom Statement Necklace

Create a pretty necklace for in no time at all using shrink plastic.

Here’s what you’ll need to make your own:

  • Grafix Shrink Film 8 1/2 x 11 in. Ink Jet White.
  • Bloom Necklace PDF (Made with images from The Graphics Fairy website).
  • Scissors.
  • 8 mm Jump Rings.
  • Necklace chain (I used something like this:  Spellbinders A Gilded Life Beaded Rosary Chain).
  • Lobster clasp.
  • Krylon Artist Sprays Crystal Clear Acrylic Spray Satin.
  • Cousin Tool Long Nose Pliers 5″.
  • Hole punch.
  • Pen or marker.
  • Toaster oven or oven.

Bloom 2

To begin, print the Bloom Necklace PDF files onto your shrink film.  The graphics are supposed to look faded, as they will brighten as they shrink.  Cut out the 4 largest rose pieces, and lay them out according to the photo.  (The smaller pairs of roses you can glue onto posts to make matching earrings, or use in other projects.)

Bloom 3

With a pen or marker, mark where the holes for the pairs of jump rings will be placed (space them about an inch apart), and a hole on each end of the row of roses so you can fasten the chain.

Bloom 5

Use your hole punch to punch out the holes for the jump rings.  Shrink the roses according to the directions on the package.  Let cool, then spray with a couple of coats of clear acrylic spray to seal the ink.

Bloom 7

Using your pliers, insert the jump rings into the holes, and fasten the roses together.

Bloom 8

Figure out how long you want your necklace to hang, and divide the chain into 2 lengths.  Use a jump ring on each end of the row of roses to attach the chain lengths.

Bloom 9

Add a lobster clasp to one end of the chain, and another jump ring to the other, as a fastener.
