Hey guys, so today I have a super simple DIY that I am sure you will love as well as find yourself making hundreds of these by how brilliantly easy and beautiful they turn out. These clay bowls are great for holding all the little things you need to corral around your house.
Items You’ll Need:
- Oven Bake Clay (any color)
- Sealant or any type of finish
- Paint Brushes
- Sandpaper or file
- Rolling Pin
- Craft Knife
Your first step will be rolling out your clay on a clean flat surface. Here you can decide how thick you want your bowl to be, just remember the thicker it is, the longer it has to bake in the oven!
Once I rolled out to my preferred thickness I found a bowl to trace a circle out of my clay.
Next comes the hardest but most fun part of the project: stamping. For one bowl, I used a big stamp and placed it in the center. Focus on pressing evenly around the whole stamp and press down firmly (harder than you think you will need to, oven bake clay is pretty stiff!)
Once I stamped both of my bowls, I laid them neatly inside two other bowls to form their shape. Remember that the bowls you choose for this step need to be oven safe. Bake according to the instructions on your clay package and until your bowls are hard and dry.
Next, file down any rough edges.
For the final step, you can do any finishing touches you want with paint. I chose to paint the rim of one of my bowls gold and finished both bowls with a super gloss finish!
I LOVE how these guys turned out. I’m a huge fan of how simple and easy they are yet they have a big payoff in functionality as well as overall appeal. I hope you all enjoy your final products!
