Shamrock Button Art

St. Patrick's Day Shamrock Button Art

With St. Patrick’s Day right around the corner, I thought it would be fun to have my daughter make this Shamrock Button Art project to put on the mantel.  She has really been in to crafting with buttons lately and was really excited when I brought out a bunch of green buttons for a project.

I traced the shamrock pattern onto the burlap frame and then she used the glue gun to glue all the buttons on.  The easiest way to do this is to start by gluing the buttons around the outline first, then move into the middle.  It is okay to glue buttons on top of one another to cover up all the burlap in your shamrock.

Supplies

  • Burlap Frame
  • Lots of Green Buttons
  • Shamrock Template
  • Pencil
  • Glue Gun

Directions

Shamrock Template

Print and cut out your shamrock template.

Trace

Use your pencil to trace your shamrock onto your burlap frame.

Add Buttons

Using your glue gun, glue your buttons on, make sure to stay within the shamrock outline.

Shamrock Button Art for the Mantel

It is okay to glue buttons on top of each other for this project.  And when you are all done, you have a wonderful piece of art to hang on the wall or to sit on the Mantel.
