Hello everyone! It’s Anna here.
This week I was inspired to create a felt Christmas ornament using Sizzix Bigz Die – Christmas Stocking. This die is too cute! The die even included the scallop cuff for the top of the stocking and a snowflake as embellishment. Love it!
Over the mantel or on Christmas tree, Christmas stockings offer an undeniable charm that’s all their own.
For my stocking I took this opportunity to sew completely freehand (free-motion), using the shapes only as guide.
A crooked line here and there won’t hurt! It will give the project character and make it yours 😉
How to make:
– Die-cut the Christmas Stocking, the top and the snowflakes from felt.
– Sew the front of stocking above the back: use a sewing machine to freehand sew some swirl lines. Glue the topper.
– Leave enough twine on end to create a loop for hanging.
– Apply a piece of ribbon.
– Attach a brad for embellishment and add the snowflakes shape. Voilá! You’re done!
You’ve created a stocking ornament that will be a cute keepsake for your family. This will also make a beautiful Advent Calendar or holiday gift.
Thanks for stopping by.
