I am a big fan of minimalist design and straight lines. I cannot say if this is a nature or nurture as recently this type of decoration is everywhere. This fact can be seen in the recent craft trend of geometric design. Whether it’s furniture, art, or accessories, a minimalist design dependent mostly on straight lines and shapes can be seen far and wide. I am a fan of this and here are some projects I found that could help me share my enthusiasm.
Gold Geometric Coasters – Think Crafts
These coasters are easy to whip up and come with so many possibilities. All of these deigns were drawn by hand, but it would be easy to use tape to get a more exact design.
So simple to make and with any extra clay you have laying around you could make this simple, yet eye catching necklace. The dip dyed effect here looks great and the colors are simple enough to look good with every outfit.
DIY Geometric Lantern – Oh Happy Day
Not only do these lanterns look fun to make, they would be a great addition to any party. Whether a going away party or a birthday, these lanterns add a nice design touch without being cliche or over the top.
Poster to Triangles – My Rainy Days
I have some old photographs I would love to display, but wanted a new, unique way to hang them. This project is the perfect way to add some photos to my room that are more about scenery than people. I love the use of the triangle with the idea that there is no one correct pattern.
Use Crayons to Create Color Block Candles – Brit + Co
Though these candles may be more practical for decoration than actual burning, the vibrant colors definitely create an interesting geometric design. Made in the microwave and Dixie cup, you don’t need to be a candle making expert to create these.
